JULY 22
(GMT +13) / NUKU'ALOFA
Things are looking up. Our lost bag was traced from LA and arrived on Tongatapu island this morning. So with all our equipment together we start running some tests. The light sensor checks out and the PC and software driving the sensor also check out.

A local telecom and ISP called Tonfon have also agreed to upgrade our internet connection to 64k this coming week as a kind of sponsorship of this artwork, so we'll have a much better chance of transmitting the data we need to reliably from tomorrow to today.

It is also the main market day in Nuku'alofa and so we stock up with fresh food for the next few days; tomatoes, peppers, bananas, custard apples, chilies, Royal Tongan beer and so on... The city's jam packed with shoppers dragging sacks of taro and yam back to their dinner tables. Bottles of purple liquid labelled Vai LekiLeki are described to us as 'good Tongan medicine' by one stern trader.
